[2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami]
The largest earthquake in living memory hit the Tohoku and Kanto Regions on March 11, causing great damage to the areas affected. However, there has been no reported damage in Sapporo. Transportation systems are operating normally, and there has been no disruption in accommodations in the city.
